Bharathi Park, formerly known as the Government Park, is a well-maintained public park located in the heart of Puducherry, India. The park is named after the famous Tamil poet Subramania Bharathi and serves as a popular recreational area for both locals and tourists.
Timings: The park is open daily from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM.
Highlights:
Aayi Mandapam: Located at the center of the park, this Greco-Roman structure was built in 1854 by Louis Gurre. It stands as a tribute to Aayi, a courtesan who contributed to the city’s water supply.
Lush Greenery: The park features well-maintained lawns, flowerbeds, and fountains, providing a serene environment for relaxation and leisure activities.
