4 weeks agoI am a Pondicherry University student and have been staying inside the university campus for more than 2 years. I regularly use this petrol pump, and unfortunately, I have experienced multiple concerning incidents at this same petrol pump. Todayβs incident: I asked the attendant for 200 petrol. She first put 100 and asked me to pay. I reminded her that I had asked for 200, so she started putting the remaining 100. I was watching the meter to make sure it reached 100 and asked her to wait for a moment. Instead, she spoke rudely and said that I was delaying the process and causing a jam because vehicles were waiting behind me. My issue is not that she put 100 + 100 instead of 200 rupees directly. My concern is simply being able to check the meter and ensure that I receive the full amount I asked for. A customer should not be rushed or spoken to rudely for verifying the fuel meter. This is not the first concerning incident at this same outlet. On another occasion, I asked for 200 rupees but believed only 100 rupees was dispensed. There was also an earlier incident when I asked for 300rupees . Just before me, an Anna had also filled 300 rupees at the same pump. I then asked for the same amount and paid 300rupees. After leaving, I initially thought my scooterβs fuel indicator might not be working properly. But after entering the university gate, only about 200β300 metres later, my petrol completely ran out. I had no recording or other proof at the time, so I did not return to question the staff because I did not want to create trouble. I cannot claim that these incidents prove deliberate wrongdoing, but experiencing multiple such situations at the same petrol pump has made me very concerned. I strongly suggest customers watch the meter from the beginning until the exact amount is reached and keep their payment receipt/UPI record. I hope the management seriously looks into the fuel-dispensing process and staff behaviour. Customers should be treated respectfully and allowed to verify the amount they are paying for.
