Via Pondichéry is an atelier of high-end embroidery, clothing, home design and accessories driven by an admiration for art, since 1992.

Vassanty Manet, Via Pondichéry’s founder and designer, brings her heritage in the performing arts to the atelier’s products. Vassanty was for many years a prominent Bharatanatyam dancer, and comes from a family of distinguished dancers, painters and musicians who have lived between India and France. The confluence of art and fashion has been a uniquely creative and inspiring space for her.

Her creations at Via Pondichéry spring as well from her rich cross-cultural roots between India, France, Vietnam and the countries she has lived in such as Madagascar.

Vassanty’s passion for craft and arts led her to become an art curator to the museum Palais Rontaunay in the Reunion Island, for an exhibition called “Gardiens d’Infini”, exploring the artistic & spiritual expressions or Arts in South India, Tamil Nadu. This was a foundation stone to meet, explore and partner with various craftmenship in South Asia to make them visible on a global scale.

Her global footprint flourishes with her creations having been sold at Galeries Lafayette in Paris, ABC Carpet and Home in New York, museums such as Musée Guimet, Quai Branly, Petit Palais, etc in Paris and her own show room & atelier, in Pondichery.

Via Pondichéry’s handbags are embroidered fabrics hand-woven by expert weavers in Pondicherry and other parts of South India.

Her clothing designs combine stylish, comfortable Western styles with legendary local fabrics as well as with path breaking use of local dyes, threads and floral work.. Vassanty has now extended her design services to be spoke interiors for homes and boutique hotels. She creates environments aligned with her clients’ needs and expectations by blending contemporary chic and ancestral savoir-faire to their homes. Her selection of quality furniture, high-end fabrics & home decoration bring a subtle touch of modernism through a warm athmosphere brought by her French and Indian heritage
